Neuromuscular Strategies LLC Boulder, CO was founded by Mike Kohm PT, BS
Physical Therapy located in South Boulder.
Why chose Mike Kohm PT?
I am passionate about movement, injury recovery and prevention of injury. Whether a client has issues with headaches, wants to ride a bike without pain, or set a personal best, my background is well suited to helping a client meet their goals.
Clients have included office workers, construction workers, professional athletes, martial artists, ranchers, loggers, landscapers, and weekend warriors. These opportunities afforded an ability to quickly evaluate and solve a client’s injury. My own personal experience with movement is growing up in New England, playing hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. The Colorado Outward Bound School was gracious enough to provide a scholarship to a 23 day course in the Canyonlands. I fell in love with backcountry travel, hiking, mountain biking and route finding.
Over the last 22 years Mike Kohm PT has taken over 35 physical therapy courses and am celebrating 24 years of clinical physical therapy experience. Mike has taught for http://www.kinetacore.com/ one of the premier continuing education companies in the field of trigger point dry needling. Mike was in the first trigger point dry needling TDN, class for physical therapists presented in Colorado.
Mike Kohm PT is a certified in functional movement screens (FMS) http://www.functionalmovement.com/fms and has taken level 1 & 2 in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) series. See the SFMA information here http://www.functionalmovement.com/SITE/clinicians/fmsforclinicians.php
Along with his wife Satya Larrea, Mike obtained his certified yoga instructor certificate though the Shambhava school of yoga and is one of the lead instructors of Yoga for Healing at Shoshoni Yoga Retreat http://www.shoshoni.org/index.htm in Rollinsville Colorado. Mike and Satya developed and teach the course Yoga Movement Screen at Whole Yoga in Denver http://wholeyoga.us/teacher.html
The number one issue in our practice is back and neck pain, headaches, and orthopedic injuries. We treat a wide variety of patients ranging from pro athletes, to clients who would like to restore their health post injury. At Neuromuscular Strategies our practice focuses up restoring functional movement through the use of manual therapy, trigger point dry needling TDN and movement screens. We attempt to find the origin of pain, rather than focusing on the symptoms. If the pain is in your knee, your ankle, hip,and lumbar spine could all be contributing to your symptoms.
Mike is trained in medical and performance bike fits.
